You need to watch what your plants are doing after the suggested watering scheme. The calculator is not an exact scientific device. My guess is that it is based on 1" per week rule of thumb. Aloha

I think the calculator is a good start, but I want to know how to adjust the watering time, as during colder months grass and plants require less water, and I would like to know if somebody has any idea on how to adjust the watering.

What timer from Rainbird are you looking at, the SST or ESP?
Have you looked at the on-line operating manuals? The ESP-LXD or ESP-LXME Manager & IQ NCC nework connections interface can be added to your ESP Controller and hooks up to your weather data and is uploaded hourly. Communication is with satellite via cable, computer, radio, telephone connections. More of a commercial system but what the heck if you have the money go for it. Rainbird's tech help would answer any of you question for your particular case for hookup. Never used it myself because I think it is technology for technology's sake and not really better than a maintenance man on the ground. JMHO Aloha
