I once collected fresh kelp to make tea to use in my garden. That turned out to be a stinky, and rather awful process. I couldn't believe how many flies were attracted to that kelp. Never again!

Do you have enough land that you can bury a large quantify of fish far away in a deep hole whilst it decomposes? You would need to bury it deeply so that raccoons, or whatever, don't come and dig it up. A fisherman told me that liquid fabric softener has enzymes which will help to get fish stink off of you, after handling a lot of fish.

You could add a lot of high carbon matter, such as sawdust, shredded wood, shredded paper to it. I'm not sure how much you'd need, but I would start with at least as much of the high carbon matter as fish. If it stinks, you need to add more carbon.

When I lived by the ocean in southern Chile the residents always applied kelp and fish right to the garden. They would bury the stuff just below the crops they were planting so the roots would grow to it. They always put it down in small amounts and as a soil prep.

Plant the fish you need about a foot deep under tomatoes, onions, eggplant, etc. By the time the roots get down there the fish is pretty much food. The fish you don't need should be something that's already been taken care of. Too much of any good thing is no longer good. Bowhunting? Talk about shooting fish in a barrel. (smile)
