White Ceiling.. 1 feature wall Bright Blue then the other 3 walls very light blue or even light yellow! Like a Mediteranean feel! It will look amazing giving you a cooling effect and a sophisticated look without going overboard...

Be careful if painting blue and yellow in the same room. Depending on direction of light it can make the yellow read greenish.

Can you post a picture of the room so we can advise you. Room size, lighting, other circumstances such as furnishings and even if there is green trees filtering the light into the room can affect the colour.

Go blue on your ceiling and white on the walls. If the blue is too bright it will be distracting and cause a blue reflection on the walls. I prefer a bedroom that is calming, colors should be quiet. Try Wales Gray 1585 by Benjamin Moore for the ceiling.


You can use bright blue in textiles and art. Hope that helps. Charmean Neithart

Tell us a bit about you so we can narrow down all this advice that may confuse you even more then you might have been. Oh thats pretty bedding, so here is why I asked you this question. If your room is small, your ceiling area is small too. Your walls are the biggest area, your floor and ceiling are next. Then the next biggest area is the bed in a bedroom. If you have blue ceiling and white walls, you would need an interesting bedding which you have. I would take a piece of bedding to the paint store in your area and find a blue that works best with your bedding. Don't go too dark and not too light, the midtone would work well for the ceiling and then do the lightest blue behind the bed. This one wall painted the light blue would look more interesting and not be too much of a contrast to the white walls.

So three white walls, the bed head wall the lightest blue and then the ceiling the midtone. I know its not the same blue you really like but without seeing all accuratly I could not say for certain that the bedding and that blue would work.

If you have a Benjamin Moore near you, take your duvet cover and show them your favourite blue and see if they can come up with the perfect balance for you. Hope this helps. :)

cass2000 what do you need to store? Measure the floor area in your room, by width and length, then tell us what furniture you have and what sizes they are. If you have storage already what is it used for and where is it.

Now what exactly do you need? A desk and bookcase for books? Dresser or hanging clothes storage?

Cass, blue is a totally evil color. It's the single most difficult color to work with because it tends to be a color shifter when you least expect it. So as Susan said, take your bedding to the paint store to have them determine your exact family of blue and go from there. Don't try to guess because your chances of nailing the exact family without a sample is slim to none. It can be the most glorious color in the world, but you have to give it total attention and respect to get it right. So, I'm happy you have found your bedding. What you don't want to do is choose blue paint first and then hunt for bedding, because it will be wrong every time.

Yes getting the exact blue is important so that your blue doesnt look off. Blue and cream is going to look nice and pleasant. Getting the perfect bedding with it will make your room look complete. Also you can add some contrasting photo frames on the walls so they dont look too plain. Good luck with your room!

I need a desk, a bed, a dresser, a bookshelf a bedside table and my closet could use some help. My floorspace is 8" by11". I have no ides how big my furniture is and I have two windows.

cass, love to help you with all this but really need a floor plan. Can you perhaps go to www.homestyler.com and create a profile and then do a simple floorplan? You can figure it out pretty quickly. Make sure you add in the windows and the doors as well as closet if you have one. Then we need you to measure what furniture you have. Although it seems as though you do not have any? Just the bedding?
