Great space! Sometimes working with the older spaces is always the best. I agree with Margo. I would keep the vanity white. Painting it could overwhelm the space. I would definitely get some great knobs. Check out anthropologie, they have great hardware.

Great suggestions on the knobs! I also vote keep the vanity white. You will be glad you did in a few years. But the knobs and fun bright accessories are great!!

Another note on keeping the vanity white - it will be so much easier when your daughters decide in a few years they want their bathroom redone! You won't have to worry about a hot pink vanity :)

Lee Valley Tools is another great place for fun knobs (or classy, retro, industrial - all kinds of hardware).

Wallpaper? I love it in the bathrooms. It doesn't need much and it can be so much fun!

Paint the vanity the same color as the bullnose trim.

I'm in for the pink. Seems fun to get all colorful in here -- there are too many white vanities in the world already, and if kids can't enjoy some sunny color, who can?? Grover's blue would be my second choice (with bright contrasting knobs), but really, I think that towel is a great thing to work from. You could even paint the inside of the shelving unit the yellow, for extra punch. And get a bright green step stool, if your kids are small... Great fun!

I like the idea of getting some colorful knobs and wallpaper. The wallpaper can have some of the blue in your tile. If you want to paint the vanity, the idea from groveraxle looks really nice. Here are some nice ideas

I was trying to find some cute wallpaper,,not so easy in that shade of blue. There was also an article with a butterfly wallpaper.

LOVE the wallpaper, printessa!! Looks like Quentin Blake for Roald Dahl! The fussier ones are beautiful but not fun enough.

I don't like wallpaper. It is hard to hang in a small bath, harder to keep up and hardest yet to remove. I love the idea of placing an old crusty rococo type mirror up even if it doesn't fit. Painting the walls is a great game changer & unmatched old hardware you might pick up at a thrift store are all good ideas. You can change so much in a bathroom just by picking the right shower curtain and the right towels. If you must paint the vanity use a crackle paint.

Just hearing the word *wallpaper* makes me cringe. After living through the 90's with every room wallpapered, it makes me shudder at the thought of it's return.

You know, lifting the single line of blue tiles would not be that hard. Then, you'd have a blank canvas to go with any colors you please, without having to figure out what goes with robin's egg blue :) (I'm assuming the blue tiles we see are the only ones?)

I love wallpaper and there is some fun stuff out there suitable for bathrooms, especially for kid girls :) But as others have said, it's a commitment at least for a number of years until perhaps the girls outgrow it? But it's a not a huge room, right? So, it's not a huge commitment :)
