We are in the middle of a post and beam build, and are trying to figure out our kitchen lighting. The island will be approx 4 wide by 7' long, possible centered between the two beams, or cheating towards the beam to the left. Beams are 7' apart, and 8' to bottom of beams. The ceiling above the island has a dormer peak that is not centered over the island. Our dilemma is what to do about lighting!

We plan to hang a pendant high up in the dormer (peak is over 20') for ambient light, but need task lighting on the island. Our style is rustic. Our ideas are few and far between. Help please, Houzzers!
