I agree that the mirror is a bit small and high. Actually, I don't know that a painting, picture, or mirror is needed here, as the stone is so nice. Maybe dress up the mantel with some tall candles or vases on each end, with some natural decorations in between. I would use glass, wood, and/or metal, and then add some color with natural materials, like dried berries or flowers. Good luck!

Great space! I think that it may be a tad bit small. Have you ever considered a convex mirror? One would look great there! Best of luck!

Too small and too high in my opinion. Id get a nice painting with a dark frame and lean it. It looks pretty high so a mirror seems a waste. Just my opinion. Good luck deciding!

Mirrors should double something interesting or beautiful that is worth seeing twice. Whatever you hang above your FP, it should be about the same width and no wider than the firebox opening below the mantel.

Maybe the mirror can work with the vases in a layered grouping....in front of something larger placed on the wall. Use the vases closer to each other and work these three items toward one end of the mantel. The mirror can over lap the larger piece and the vases can over lap the mirror.
