It repeated for me for the first time this year. I think it requires rich soil and plenty of water to repeat. (And who can blame it for that?) I know my climate is very different from yours, but for what it's worth, I love this rose--it's just beautiful.

I have two and I do get repeat though not a bunch. I get a regular set of a flower or two all summer and then a small flush late(unless the deer eat them) It benefits from spraying though is not as prone to crud say what is sold as Mme de la Roche-Lambert and Eugénie Guinoisseau (prehaps the same rose)Eugénie has the better repeat so far but my older Paul is getting too much shade at the moment. It is a lovely rose. I am sorry I have no advice on heat.

Patricia, thanks. I'm going to take a chance on this rose. I have a moss that gets crud and if it doesn't perform, it's going bye bye.

I grow this rose, and it gets MAJOR crud for me, but, I wouldn't give it up. More than any other rose I grow, DdPF looks like one of the Old Master Oil Paintings. Mine is still young, so I can't really commet too much on rebloom, although I do get an occassional flower.

I also grow Mme de la Roche-Lambert which gets some crud and defoliation...no repeat for me yet in year two.

I overlook many imperfections in Moss roses because this is my favorite class.

Robert-what is your source for MdlR-L? According to Vintage it doesn't repeat-which agrees with Dickerson but my other books are all over the map with it. Mine is from Pickering and is virtually identical to EG. Maybe I need to get a new one?

My MdlR-L is from Sherando Roses, and I don't know where he got it ultimately. Mine is really still too young to judge rebloom. The only moss that I have that really reblooms is Salet...but, most of my roses are still just babies.

'Deuil de Paul Fontaine' lacks vigor compared to some of the really superb Mosses, but I am willing to overlook that. It does have some strikingly beautiful blooms, and once established, it repeats reasonably well for its class. However, it is one of the worst Blackspot offenders of the Mosses and if I needed its location for something else, I'd yank it out in a heartbeat. It all depends how much you are willing to deal with its flaws. (What rose has no flaws??!)
