Japanese Beetles in Elmore County

I just wanted to warn those of you in central Elmore County about the Japanese Beetles. Until today, I had not found any in my garden, but I walked out to my potting shed this afternoon and they were all over my Peppervine (Ampelopsis arborea) that grows on the lattice out there. I've checked my hibiscus, etc. and found none so far. But you better believe I'll check them daily from now on! I knocked as many as I could reach off the vine into a cup of soapy water, but of course the vine climbs all the way to the top of the shed so there's no way to reach them all. Maybe, with any luck, they'll just eat the Peppervine and leave the rest of my garden alone! Keep your eyes open for them in your area, and good luck!
