Much thanks to all for the excellent advice on my Brugmansias.

I cut them off and covered with leaves and covered with pots. Had trouble with the biggest one as it had four small trunks and I couldn't find a pot big enough to cover them all, so I used two pots which worked very well. I have a yellow one and a peach color. The peach hasn't bloomed yet as it was really small this past summer. thanks again.
