Hi Maida,

H.papilio, H. aglaiae, and H. reginae are definitely compatible. If you have any cybister hybrids, they would be good prospects. A cross with H. parodii or H. parodii 'Germa' would likely be stunning. Ah, so many possibilities!

I presume that the Hybrid "Giraffe" is a product from crossbreeding H.evansiae with H.papilio.
When I crosspollinated "Giraffe" with "Pink Floyd" some seedlings would produce, surprisingly, yellowish flowers, without any hint of red. The same came to light, when I crossbred "Giraffe" with H.cybister "Chico".

Here is a picture of what my pot of Hippeastrum evansiae looks like now. I selfed the first two blooms and two more scapes are blooming. I have four more scapes on the way. I am saving all the pollen for future crosses when the Hippeastrums in the yard start to bloom.
