I like contrast to play up surfaces. Since you have a large glass top and st.st. legs, I would go with something that plays against that: upholstered chairs with wood legs or wood chairs. You could also do something different for the host chairs at the end. I think the table should be the star!

I might do bench on one side so that you don't hide that stunning table. Just a thought!

I like the bench shown in this photo. I's similar but the bench wood is less rustic, has a sheen (maybe teak?). Perhaps yours will work too, what do you think?

Someone else suggested Parsons chairs. They absolutely never go out of style and are modern at the same time. I say they dont go out of style b/c they are in the Biltmore house in Asheville and it was designed in the late 1800's. Anyway, check out Carrington Direct in North Carolina -they have a website. They have quality parsons chairs - I purchased black leather from them and my sister in law purchased fabric (she lives in Houston and I in SC) So they deliver long distance. High def photography can add the wow factor to neutral decor.

I love the look of a backless bench, but it really isn't comfortable for dining. How about something with a back if you really like the bench idea? I know it isn't the same long, lean look but your guests will thank you ;-)

I love Josh M's reccommendation. A rectangular chair like that really does seem to need benches instead of individual chairs.
