My musa basjoos never make their reappearance until much later - like late May. I'm in Southeast VA, and we usually don't have bad winters like this one, but I don't anticipate that they won't pop back up in a little while. Give them some time?

this was my first winter for my basjoo at my new place. We had a much colder winter than the past few. I covered mine with a bunch of leaves and a tarp. The mother plant is coming back and has 3 new pups too. I have lost mine all the way down to the ground before and they have come back. I bet yours will too. I would suggest covering the area with a tarp during rain to try and keep them dry.

Surprisingly since my first post all of mine are pushing up pups except for one of my Black Thia and my Saba. One Basjoo is already 2-3 foot high so all looks well . It's much better when you have 6-10 foot live stalks to start out the Spring with instead of starting over from the ground. It has been 15 years since we have had single digit temperatures so I felt pretty certain I l had lost them all.
