Killing Bamboo

Please help me ! I have been fighting this plant for over 20 years. I have lived with this plant and now it is time to say good-bye to it. I have dug and dug but it comes back even more then before. I Live in up state NY and you would think the cold winter here would kill it. Thank you all in advance for any info you can give me.

What kind of bamboo?

I bet it's not bamboo, but knotweed, which I found all over the place near Belfast ME.

Many ME locals said the knotweed was bamboo.

Google for knotweed to see pictures vs yours, and how to attack.
