Overwintering in greenhouse

I have several basjoos that I was unable to dig into the ground this summer (my yard is still in midst of being redone). I am taking my musas to a local greenhouse to overwinter. It's not a really big one and 1 or 2 of my plants may be touching the ceiling , so I was wondering if I should cut them back before taking them? And when you do this, do you cut it just below where your lowest leaf comes out of the base? Or do I need to keep a leaf or 2 on it? Our frost date will be here in several weeks probably, but I plan on taking my plants to the greenhouse by end of September anyway.
