Bamboo Recommendation

I want to plant a bamboo in a large pot to screen an electrical box where I can't plan something in the ground. It should grow about 6 to 12 FT, like a lot of sun, be evergreen, and I would like a weeping variety. Can anyone suggest a good species? Thanks!

You might want to consider Bambusa multiplex 'Golden Goddess. It is hardy in Austin in the ground but you should put it in a large pot to minimize the roots from freezing or perhaps double pot it with Styrofoam peanuts as insulation. It is a clumper that spreads at the top rather than weeps. See link to picture below. After a few years you will have to take it out of the pot, divide it, and re-pot it. The good news is you will have more plants.

Jan8j, I agree with MikeMcG. That was also my first choice. My second choices, if you want something a bit taller and more weeping, you may look into Bambusa Mult. 'Fernleaf' or B. mult. 'Willowy'
WANG TSAI or for a really short plant try B. mult. 'Riviereorum' CHINESE GODDESS.
