Several questions

Hello, I am new to banana growing ( I live in Tallahassee) and am wondering about fertilizer formulas. I have seen recommendations from 3-1-6 to 15-0-15. I also am intereseted in getting a few of the FHIA varieties. Does anyone know a source for them?

I am by no means an expert. And maybe an expert told you those formulas but but first one is certainly not good for bananas. Bananas are very heavy feeders. Do you have fruiting bananas or just for ornament? I know nothing about FHIA varieties. I am hoping you will tell us about them I have read many pages of this forum and have never seen them mentioned. I live an hour north of you by the way.

That is what I thought, James. I have been using 8-8-8 and will probably switch in the spring to 10-10-10. I found the FHIA and many others at goingbannans.com

The 3-1-6 is the correct ratio. However, you might like to go a little heavier, like 15-5-30, etc.
