Hi Bean Pod - where 'ya at? Would this be the grove in Covington, off Hwy 21 by the river? I've wanted to stop & dig some, but it's somebody's property ... I ought to just stop & ask. Maybe they'll let me pay for it.

Did you get hit by Katrina? Did your gardens do okay?

Leslie

Hi Leslie..I am in Hattiesburg. You should have stopped and ask about that bamboo they might have sold you some. I haven't seen that grove. I don't go to Covington county much. Katrina was horrible! My yard was covered with fallen trees. What few plants I had were blown away or smashed by trees. I never want to go thru that again.

I live in Franklinton. There are miles of snapped pine trees by my house ... the lovely woods that I enjoyed are gone. I had branches down by my trailer, but my one large tree (a huge water oak) was spared. Katrina was a nightmare. I never want to go through that again, either. There's still so much destruction everywhere, so many people whose lives are turned upside down.

I've been wanting to go camping. Is Desoto still nice? I want to get away from the Katrina destruction, so if it looks like the woods around here, then I'll go further.
