need help around my field lines

the area where my septic field lines are located doesn't perk . why the lines were ever put there in the first place may have to be discussed in court eventually , but for the mean time i wondered if maybe growing cattails or something of the sort in that area would work in sucking up some of the water . what kind of root system do cattails have ?

i would love some ideas on different plants to put out in that area , but roots will be a BIG factor ( i would hate to make an already huge problem even bigger:o)

the area gets full sun all day long and at this point just a big open field so any ideas are welcomed .

thanks for the help,

rachel
