We saw this dilemma on twitter and just had to chime in. SWA is on the mark with the note about landscaping. Brick is absolutely beautiful, so I'd highlight it with some exterior lighting. If you are facing a roadway, it might look lovely to have a post mount light light the "Tampa" draw the eye to your lawn.

Patina finishes would complement the shade of the brick. A Bulkhead Fixed Pendant with the green patina finish would look great hung in the entry way.

I Liked the comment Overgrown plants , secondly I myself feel the boring windows , why not paint the trims a Mocha or Chocolate brown and the Garage and Entrance door as well .

The house and the setting are lovely!

The overgrown plants need to be tamed and some colour added. Determine how large and where you want your flowerbeds. Find out what you have in the beds(when things bloom?) - you may want to move things around, work up and edge the remaining beds, then add your colour and then add a dark mulch. Leave space to put a few large rocks or other accents in the beds as well. Anything you move or add will need to be fertilized with a rooting formula for a season.

The brick appears to have a pink cast to it - so add some foliage with burgundy red and some varegated white would look lovely.
The front door needs some colour - perhaps a burgundy, leaving the sidelights white.

Then I would add shutters to the windows and paint them a dark dark gray and paint the garage door the same colour gray.

HI, it looks like the garden needs some work. I would combine the two beds, unless you need to walk through the bare area to pick-up mail, if that is the case then you need a walk-way. Using large slabs of stone set in pea gravel would look nice or just surrounded by turf and with an edging of liriope on the beds to make them look more contained.
The brick looks tan with a pinkish tone and the roof a charcoal grey. What colors are you using inside your home? Sometimes it is nice to paint the doorway a color that gives a hint at what is to come. A red door is always great, but if you want to be more subtle, try a deep royal blue in a high gloss finish. Finally, if those are too dramatic and you want a soft look, try a sage green.
Add some yard lighting in the way of a pole light or two. Don't line up a bunch of small lights along the edge. Think of hiring a landscape lighting designer, the house, garden and trees with up-lights or spots would give you great bang for your buck as they say and would enhance your home year around.

I totally agree with cleaning up the overgrown landscaping first and see what can be done with the house.
