I find that successful capsules open about 4-5 weeks after pollination and occasionally up to 6 weeks.

Healthy pods will swell and finally crack exposing the black seeds inside. They may or may not turn yellow when they are fully ripe. Many of mine stay healthy green, with yellow often being a sign of trouble.

If you didn't notice that the pod swelled and grew considerably larger, it may be failing. Just leave it alone. There's nothing you can do if it's failing. I hope it had gotten nice and fat and the yellow is just a sign of impending cracking.

Search this forum for "pod" and you should see photos of healthy and failing pods. Then you might have a better idea of what is going on.

Better yet, if you can send us some close-ups of your seedpods we should be able to give you a more definitive answer. Most seedpods seem to take a month or more with papilio seedpods seemingly taking several weeks more.
They should be about as large as the pods in this picture which have a few weeks to go before they appear to be ripening. This is an aulicum x papilio cross...what is your cross by the way?

Here are my seed pods. The one flower I didn't pollinate has shrunk in size and about to fall off stem.

My cross was Fall Star x Green Dragon. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I will get some viable seeds. If you notice in the picture the shriveled seed pod was not pollinated.

Well, they are much further along than my attempts to pollinate Fall Star, both of which failed almost immediately. Based on your tag, you pollinated 3 weeks ago, so I would expect them to look more rounded than this, but I think there is still a good reason to hope.

UPDATE: The two seed pods are yellow and about to fall off.

They look great, so does the cactus, but it looks so alone

There's the big carrion cactus sitting on the cage full of seedlings and a smaller (yet still big) starfish cactus sitting on the ground. They keep each other company. The carrion cactus is over 5' long and a huge branch broke off while I was moving it. Might you give it a home?
