Hi ssabherwal,

Granted, I work for Houzz, so I am clearly partial, but I find a lot of value in being able to search and sift through thousands of photos easily to get an idea of what I like for any particular project. On top of that, the ability to ask professionals about their work is invaluable to me.

I, for one, find this site very valuable. It gives clients an opportunity to compose ideas in one organized place and gives me the opportunity to show what I can do. I have gotten several new clients from my exposure on HOUZZ, and find telling prospective clients that they can view my work and recommendations here to be invaluable.

Houzz has been a great resource to our company since we were introduced to it by a client. Not only is it a very solid way to display real, newly done spaces in homes, but the ability for individual homeowners to select and tag any photo on Houzz into their own ideabooks is great. A virtual scrapbook without all the cutting, and with a lot more to look at than any number of magazines.

Even more, the searching and linking to professionals in your area (and elsewhere) who do projects similar to what you are interested in is great. You can then follow them similar to other social media sites through your own Houzz profile, and stay updated on any new work, comments, or ideabooks they put up for view.

We have had a good number of our clients come in to us from Houzz to redo their kitchen with new cabinets and countertops for example, and they would ask our designers to log into their Houzz profiles so we can see their scrapbooks they collected from images posted around the Houzz community. This helped us get a better idea for what they are trying to do or a look they are aiming for. It's been a very positive platform for us!
