I'm in north Mississippi. I've been gardening for decades, but new to this region x 2yrs. I tried winter sowing last year with no success. Everything dried out. I guess I did not keep it moist enough, or the holes were too big and it dried out. So I will have to revisit the instructions. Can anyone give me some easy pointers? Also, I don't know if I like having so many small containers. Has anyone built like a raised planter or a nursery bed instead? I have a side yard where that would work. I am picturing sort of several square foot sections of a large rectangular planter with a different seed variety in each. Could that be left out in the elements or would it need some sort of mini-greenhouse cover?I would love to be successful with winter sowing. It fulfills my need to garden year round (used to be able to in zone 9b) and my cheap (frugal) nature. Also because I like the idea of growing these babies from the very beginning. Any help and/or seeds would be appreciated. What kind of soil or soilless mix do ya'll use?
