Outgrowing Pots

I was going to start a small succulent and cacti garden last summer. I bought several plants and just left them in their pots and set them where I was planning my garden. I continued to add small pots of different ones over the summer and now I need to do something. I bought a paddle plant and it is beautiful with the red edges on the leaves and has really thrived in the pot but is outgrown it and I really want to keep it looking so pretty but do I just put it in the ground and will it go into shock or continue to grow. Same question for all the other pots that are needing to be transplanted into the ground or something bigger. This is a new area for me and I need help. I don't want to loose any of them - they are all doing so well and look so pretty. Thanks for any advice.
