Certainly the floor is quite nondescript. So how about putting in hardwood flooring, and a rug such as that shown? You could add a contemporary wallpaper on the bed wall, similar to what you see in the picture if you like that, or a different pattern that you do like.

The spectacular light fixtures hanging from the ceiling are do-able. Not great for reading at night, but they add oodles of atmosphere. What colors do you like? What colors are in other rooms nearby?

West Elm or Z Gallerie have bedding that would work well with your new bed. Take the picture in and ask for suggestions on bedding from them. Or if they are not near you, let us know and we'll make some specific suggestions.

we like the light fixtures as a matter of fact were going to order ones that are similar. the wall in pic is nice but we think that its a bit much. the floor we were thinking hi gloss tiles along the mocha caramel colors. what color walls would you put with that?

Let's talk about your flooring. Since your master bedroom is probably connected to a master bathroom that presumably already has tile on the floor, you would need to match that flooring or change to a different material entirely. And high gloss tiles are frequently slippery and therefore not best for wet areas. So please provide more info on that situation.

If you are in the US as I presume you to be, what state are you in? Most of the country is really into hardwood flooring these days, and for resale purposes, you might want to follow that trend.

Regarding wall color, let's figure out the flooring first. But we'll think about the walls. That choice could be affected by your bedding selection. So look at that also as part of the equation. If you are, at this point, throwing up your hands in horror, then consult a local interior designer.
