You know, as I compare the photos, the latest rauschii also looks a little more wrinkly and squatter than the first picture...I am wondering about that. The buds are getting larger, so it is definitely growing...but I wonder if i might be underwatering it? Anyone else experience similar behavior in rauschii?

my rebutia heliosa does the same it shrinks bk quite dramaticly during the winter.i wouldent water it to much this time of year i know that thick tap root is quite suceptable to rot. it looks happy enough though the buds are swelling nicley im shure it will puff up again come summer when you can water it more.

To this day, whenever I show new cactus flowers to one of my family members, they always gasp. Cactus flowers are amazing...they almost don't look real.
