In the summer, all my plants go outside. I'm used to growing cacti, which I can leave outside all summer, and when it gets too cold (Ohio, zone 5-6) I just put them in the spare room, and leave them dry. They sit in a north window, which is fine for them because they don't grow in the winter as long as they're cool and dry, and it works out just fine.
However, I'm really wanting to get into lithops, conophytum, argyroderma, etc. These guys actually form their new leaves in the winter, so I guess I can't just throw them in the spare room and (almost) forget about them for the winter.
Does anyone grow these kinds of plants under lights in the winter? I'd love to know anything about your setup you can tell me.
