Hello, jspringer4. The leaves were too far away for my eyes so here are some comments based strictly on the color of the leaves:

Camellia dieback (occurs more often with sasanquas and reticulatas) or some form of root rot (a fungal infection casued by a Phytophthora fungus infestation). Both are fungal infections.

If the browned-out leaves have something that looks like specks, it could be camellia scale.

A bronze leaf color suggests either spider mites' damage or too much sun (common in the Fall and Winter when the trees that provide shade loose foliage). But a "too much sun" diagnosis would mostly affect those leaves in direct contact with the sun; that is not the case on your picture so I would cross that out...

I agree with jeff_al8 AL that the condition may be due to drought. However, if the condition seems to be spreading from yard to yard, marching, if you will, like Great Burnham Wood in _Macbeth_, it may be a case of voracious voles feeding ravenously on the roots of the camellias and, thus, killing them. We've recently had several well-established ornamentals keel over. Three have died--a 'Willie Hite' _Camellia japonica_, a 'Seventh Desire' _Camellia sasanqua_, and an elaeagnus. Two appear near death--an aucuba and a _Daphne odora_. Of course, daphne is notorious for dying for no apparent reason; however, I think all of these plants' roots have been a veritable smorgasbord for the voles' dining pleasure.
