buds drop off

I live in North CA. I bought a camellia sas "Showa-no-Sakae" in Sep and there were lots of buds on it at that time. In Oct and Nov several even opened. But this month I don't know why all of the buds dropped before opening. It is in pot but outdoor and I never transfer it after I bought it from the nursery. Any advice?

I'm not much help -- having the same problem.

I'm in Piedmont SC. Have an established camellia, which had lots of buds. But none ever opened. Now we're into freezing rain, so I'm giving up hope.

Any ideas?

I would recommend increasing the humidity around the plant. This can be done with a cool-mist humidifier or by setting it in a container of rocks to which you add water as needed.
