I don't know if it is my place to tell you this, I don't intend to step on others toes. This is what I did with mine because I couldn't seem to be able to propagate the plant, I set up a flat of soil, (at any time if you don't know what I'm talking about because you are new I will explane this to you.) then I set the plant on top of this and set the string of pearls down on top of the soil, the roots were still in their pot, I kept this soil damp, but let it dry out a few days between waterings. They are rooted down now, and I learned. I had a friend who wanted a box full of this plant tell me what to do and it worked. Take a plastic flat 18 x 18" and line it with newspaper, even up the 2" sides this will hold the soil in. Mine is an variegated plant so it's more sensitive. Another bit of information, they seem to take more cold than I expected. Mine live outside and temps are going down to 50F this week, and I'm not bringing them in, they have overhead protection from the cold and rain. I water and fertilize if they are in growth, if they stop growing I stop watering and let them go dormant. The are on the shaded side of my lath house and get plenty air circulation which is important. You ask the questions I will try to help you, I live in International zone 20 and Calif. zone 10 I think. One more bit of information they are winter growers. Norma

Probably over watering them. They don't need much water. They will burn in full sun but that probably isn't an issue inside the house unless you had them right next to a bright south facing window. Like Norma mine is outside and is has been fine in temperatures down to the 40's. I keep it shaded behind and beneath other plants.

I grow mine on a cabinet ledge between two African Violets. Eastern-southern facing window, receiving morning and afternoon sun.

I neglect this plant, often forgetting to water until the beads have wrinkled.
