I plant a wide variety of blueberries instead of focusing on one type. In my garden one variety will do well for a year or so and then another will step into the spotlight. They all do fine but one variety will outperform the others and it never seems to be the same one each year.

true, and you do need 2 varieties for pollination anyhow. I have 4 different southern rabbiteyes, but only because the southern highbushes weren't out yet when i planted them. Now i'd do a mixture of the 2 types, different varieties.
