Because of the narrow tubular opening of this pitcher, I can only say that it is staged. Birds know better than to dive into a narrow opening and compromise being trapped. I have seen birds get trapped mostly because of slippage or reaching in to grab at a bug and then falling in not being able to escape, therefore drowning in the process of escape.
Birds would be attracted to red colored pitchers. This one is not so red.

Hmm, I beg to differ. Food is food and it knew what was in there. Birds can fly in amazingly small spaces. This is not the first time this has happened BTW.

Actually, the extremely large nepenthes Ceasar's grown at Leilani catch birds and mice fairly often. but they are very large and have a big 'mouth'.

A bird instinctively will not be allowed to squeeze into an opening and be trapped. Especially a tit. They're too clever to get stuck like this.
Theere have been birds that do get trapped, but it usually the wider mouth, bigger tank types. Never a narrow pitcher. this was staged.

If we did an autopsy on the bird we may discover that the bird had a broken neck and was inadvertently stuffed into the pitcher for nutrient's sake. Perhaps flying into the greenhouse and breaking its neck.
Any way, this is not the norm.

Seems to me that you were perpetuating rude behavior with encouragement. My response was meant to encourage the opposite: rude behavior should not occur to begin with.

The difference is that RainforestGuy was trying to give advice not being rude, you were throwing offensive jabs.

Now adays even on line video games aren't a supportive environment for trolls... they even make it difficult to read text from other players by putting it in this tiny little transparent box in the corner of ur screen u never look at. Trolls are migrating to gardening forums!
