I am in Chatham Co. Our Local Lowes Garden Center has apricot trees for sale. While I have an occasionally producing peach tree and a neighbor claims to get good plums, I have never heard of apricots grown around here.

The opinion of our county ag agent is 'you can grow any fruit as long as its blueberry.' So do you think Lowes lost its mind? I came from Santa Clara Co, California where all the prunes and apricots were grown before they changed to silicon chip production. I would love to grow apricots, BUT???
