I need some serious help with this space. Since we moved in, we can't stand the layout of the tv next to the fireplace. So, what we want to do, is rip out the whole thing, center the fireplace, add a hearth (all made of veneer stone) and add cabinets to the lower open shelving on the bottom of the two sides of the mantle for media. Would it look bad if we went all the way to the ceiling with the stone??? Would it be too much? I want a rustic look. I still want a mantle with the TV centered above, but we want the TV lower so we are not stretching our necks to look up. ANY ideas or photos of good ideas will help. THANK YOU!
