My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

    This is self contained Sundance Spa. It is partial set into the ground with the rear (access panels) accessible. We then build an Ipe deck around it.

      Great Design! Does this sit on a slab or direct on the ground? Do you have any special drainage in place? We would want to do something similar in our California Residence.

      I'm putting in a similar Sundance Spa but was told I need to leave one side open for retractable spa cover to fold back on. How did you handle the spa cover or so they manually take on and off?

      This sat on a slab.

      We left a wide enough deck ledge to hold the cover, we did not use the lid lift mechanism . In this shot we removed the cover altogether.

      Looks like you sank the spa about 18". How much clearance between spa and retaining walls did you maintain? I'm assuming pressure treated wood retaining. Thanks.

      Yes we retained with pressure treated wood. We kept minimal distance. The access panel to the motor was on the exposed down sloping side.

      How far in the ground was the hottub? Did you pour a concrete slab?

      This was on a down sloping site. The near edge was cut in about 18" while the far edge is at ground level. We did pour a slab due to the weight of the tub.

      How do you put a cover on the jacuzzi if the wood deck is flush with the top of the jacuzzi?
