If you are capable of cutting them yourself you can get used barrels at wineries for $75-$100. We got some there and then some at a salvage place. It took some calling around though and.. if you can manage to get them from salvage you will pay a lot less for them. The ones from the salvage store were worn in real well while the ones from the winery looked near new and were a little more decorative.

I know Lowes carried them at one point in time but I haven't been in a Lowes garden center in forever..

Lowes still have them.
They are 40.00.
They are real wine barrels.
I want one too, but I'm not paying that.

I got mine for less than that at K-Mart about 3 years ago. Mine is a real wine barrel. If you still have a K-Mart in your area, I'd give them a call.
