More frost proof wanted

Is anyone breeding for increased frost resistance in high winter rainfall areas? C gardenii is moderately tough, but miniata only seems to need a touch to develop big brown patches and droopy leaves.

Funnily enough the gardenii seedlings seem tougher than the parent. Perhaps they're acclimatised.

I've placed an order for a x cyrtanthiflora. Is this likely to be more like gardenii or miniata? Anyone know?

Perhaps if I moved them closer to the house walls. Drier conditions and reflected warmth... Yes?

(No more containers, please. The place looks like a pot sales yard already!)
