I had the same problem - thought I must be doing something wrong, but couldn't figure out what.

I noticed you posted one to the Name that Plant forum as an attachment. Not all forums support attachments (and this one does not). If you look on the forums list, there has to be a camera icon next to the forum name in order for it to support photo attachments.

If you are trying to post it as an image link from a photohosting site (like photobucket), that would be a different issue. But it works for me (this is Magnolia tripetala):

blueangel -- what photo hosting site are you using? Picasa, Photobucket, other? You'll need to look for "embed" the code, instead of "link" the code.

If you're using Picasa, I wrote up some instructions for that and put them here a month or so ago. A search should find it for you.
