We never get frogs...at least during the day. Do you live near a pond/creek?

You probably just don't see them out JQ- they hide down in moist foliage or a cool damp spot if it's hot out. Look around just after a nice rain and you might be surprised what comes out to bask. We've always had frogs, even before we built our 2 little ponds, so you don't need a pond or creek, just a few hidey holes and lotsa bugs.

Sorry JQpublic for not responding more quickly. To answer your question...no I do not have a pond nearby but there are lots of peepers, frogs, and toads all in my neighborhood. There is a creek but not really within stones throw. They love hiding under the foliage all over the SFG ... plus I mulch with wheat straw too. The beds are a moist, cool spot that rescues them from the heat of the day.

We get frogs, too, and there's no pond around. I particularly love the little tree frogs! The frogs love to "sing" like crazy after a good rainfall. We also get those little green lizards. They must hide like the frogs do down in the moist foliage or damp, shady ground under the plants. Occasionally I'll see the lizards out sunning on the leaves before it gets too hot.
