Snowball Bush/Hydrangeas/Azaleas

Hi all,

I'm interested in ripping out the ugly plain bushes put in by the builders and putting in some more interesting plants. If I were to plant these, then when would be the best time? Could I order some online now and plant them in the fall? Are they best planted in the spring? If in the spring how early?? Thank you!

If they've been grown in pots (container grown) you can plant them at any time of the year. After all this rain would be a good time.

Thanks! Man we're getting more rain. They might drown if I get them in now. I haven't ordered them yet but will try and order them online. Thanks!

If you are still looking from anything other 'builders' shrubs the Farmers Market over off Lake Wheeler Rd have some fantastic offerings right now. Since they are locally grown you know they will adapt quickly. We got camellias, dwarf nandinas, and azaleas there this past week - good prices too .....
