I have experience w/ R. 'Climbing Pinkie'. It was a rose that was recommended to me by the Antique Rose Emporium. It has performed very well and is disease resistant (has to be because I don't spray any of my roses for fungal diseases). It has covered the top of an arbor in 3 years. One bonus is that it's nearly thornless. It typically blooms heavily twice a year, in Spring and again in Fall, and then sporadically throughout the summer. I have New Dawn and Fourth of July climbers. Both are fairly disease resistant. Zephirin Drouhin is OK too, but for me in part shade, can be a BS magnet. The first flush is still magnificent and so is the scent.

Crepuscule is supposed to be good for this region (developed in the 19th century in Charleston). I haven't had mine long, but so far I haven't had any problems. Beautiful color (golden peach), more or less continuous bloom through the season, and almost no thorns.

I have Fourth of July also and agree it's resistant and blooms great.

I second Crepuscule. It is nearly thornless, resistant to blackspot and blooms nearly continuously. Great color and fragrant too! Denise
