Hello RB, start in Aug and let them grow into Oct and Nov, and hope for frost, it makes them sweeter. Use good seed, never ever home improvement or hardware store seed, I would recommend Diablo from Park Seed. The usual watering and fertilizer requirements. Here is a thought to keep in mind, drip irrigation will cut down on disease so it is worth looking into. Oh, and Diablo does not mean fighting chicken ;)
