Self rooting Spanish Bayonet Yucca?

I just received two (2) SPANISH BAYONET Yucca Dagger plants in the mail. Right now they are a great green and strong in leaf. I need to get them growing some roots but have never done this before. What is the best way?

Do I just get them in the pots and let them grow on their own or should I put them in a container of water with root start first and then plant them in the pots once they start showing root growth?

They will be in pots over the winter and then transplanted to the outdoor grounds once our chances of frost are over in late April. I'm in s/e Michigan, zone 6b where it is a bit too late to start them in the ground, outdoors, and have them make it through the winter.

Thanks.
