overwintering and sprouting

I have all my brugs indoors now. I cut them back and have them in my basement which is mainly dark but unfortunately not as cool as I would like. A few of the stems are putting out new growth.If I keep removing this new growth as it appears will it damage the Plants? It will be a long Winter and it looks as though this will be an ongoing problem.

Hi thistle, Welcome. I am in the same boat as you. My basement is not really cool either. You can and should keep them defoliated. Those nasty mites have less of a chance of taking over your brugs.
