Lamb or Lion?

March is reputed to come in as one and go out as the other.

Lion here, nasty snowstorm but I was amazed to see my well established tulips up an inch yesterday, that is very early for my garden.

Lamb or lion for you? M

I've been out in the garden this morning dunging out. The sun is out, there isn't even the slightest of breezes, A big blue sky with a few billowy clouds floating by. OMG I even saw a honey bee foraging in the crocus. It's been a morning of striping off the layers of clothing as it's really quite warm working in the garden. I just finished lunch and about to give it another go. The weather is suppose to turn this afternoon but the day started out very mild so I guess it's lamb here.

Lamb here. My DH, DS1 and I spent several hours out in the garden today finishing up the winter cleanup. Beautiful day, short sleeves and still got hot out there. It was supposed to only be in the low 50's, but we have south facing garden with lots of direct sun.

My big thrill today was finding enough baby pink muhly seedlings to fill gaps along the driveway bed where it gets really, really hot (full sun all day long).

I guess I'd call it a very mellow lion here in Michigan. We had about four inches of fresh snow by this morning - not exactly a storm, but no spring lamb either.

Lamb in central NM, we've had several days of nice weather, Mora. I saw a lizard the other day. The roadrunners are active. There have been a few flies, bees and wasps. I worked in the yard wearing a tank top and shorts. I'll be able to harvest arugula in a few days. It wintered over nicely.

Lamb here! Temps today 70 rest of the week upper 60's, yay! Azaleas are starting to bloom good now, grass is showing a bit of green and spring bulbs are up! The only down side... flies are back, oh how those things aggravate me when they get in the house!

Patti- My grandma lives in MA too and they are all sick of the snow. She had told me the rain took it all away and then that last storm hit and she said it snowed all day. Infact my uncle fell and fractured his hip on the ice in his driveway. You know I love New England, I grew up there and all my fam is there. However though as much as I would love to move back I just don't know about them long winters. I don't know, I think I'ed rather take our hot humid summers then long winters cause at least their are flowers in the hottest parts of the summer.

I believe it is a lamb here, no lions roaring about. It is breezy, some clouds, big blue sky, and 77. I was out planting seeds from the seed swap this morning. Really gorgeous out!

What a difference a day makes!
It's a picture perfect March day with sun shining on the snow and a glorious blue sky above.
The old-fashioned sap buckets are hanging on the maples on many of our streets in the historic sections of town. Quite charming.

    You'd better reconsider, Meghan! LOL

Oh you are so right about that, Patti! What a difference a day makes. The New England snow must have diverted itself to NM. I'm hoping the high winds will blow this storm elsewhere, like maybe to Tucumcari. Thus far, there have been 40mph gusts, random snow flakes, COLD, and dark clouds. One of the interesting things about living on a mesa is that weather often surrounds the mesa without actually happening here.

I spent the weekend at the beach, gorgeous sun and 20C temperatures, so definitely lamb here :-)

We had the mellow lion here!! Snowed like crazy in the am, then I had a nice sunset. Some local newperson did the math and figured that we have had ( by about a week ago) 12 feet of snow in total. Thank God much of what we had by January melted in the thaw. I am so ready for spring!!

Lamb, I guess...it was so beautiful today! Sunny, almost 80! And I got out there and transplanted daylilies into the new bed, divided Stokes asters and put them in there. Moved a pink gaura over there, too. OH! I'm so happy. It felt so good to dig in the dirt!

Well, it was actually 55 yesterday. mix of clouds and sun. A very nice day. I actually did a bit of spring cleaning in the garden. It felt good.
It's supposed to be pretty cruddy this week, though. We have a messy rain/snow mix for today with temps dropping, then cold and snow all week. We are all SO #$*&^%$#%* sick of winter and all it entails. It needs to end NOW.

The first two days were lovely. Last night the lion arrived. I was watching a squirrel this mornig. He was trying to scamper down the jujube tree. The wind was blowing him sideways, and his tail looked like he had touched a live wire. Talk about bright eyed and busy tailed! About that time the wind sucked the dog door. He heard that noise and ran back up. This happened several times. He just knew the dogs were after him.
The sun is shining and it is beautiful...if your are inside. The wind is very strong and cold.
The predicted low tonight is now 35 F. It had been 28.

We've had quite a few nasty T storms, with very strong winds, heavy rains, and hail. I was a bit scared the other day sitting here at work by myself when it got really dark and the thunder and lightening started along with the rest. I just prayed a tornado didn't happen.

This weather has brought a little cold weather for us tonight, supposed to get down to the low 40's and feel like it's 38.

Tomorrow it is supposed to be around 70 and windy still. I hope to get out to play in my gardens and take some more pictures. I've got sprouted seedlings and cuttings going back in my new potting area. I'm hoping to go to a plant swap south of us in May so am trying to get some things ready to take to that.

The rain has done everything much good and I am thankful for that.
