Western Red Cedar germination?

16 years ago

Hey all, I recently finished cold stratifying some WRC seeds, and I took them out the other day. Today I went to check them and noticed the coffee filter (the way I use to germinate seeds) was lifted. I opened the bag to find this:

{{gwi:651563}}

{{gwi:651565}}

I think there are near 50 seeds that have germinated. I had almost 100% germination. Anyone else have a rate this good with these seeds? I had always thought they had poor germination. What in the world am I going to do with 50 seedlings?! :)

Right now I don't think I am going to seperate them. I want to just take the whole coffee filter and stick it into a pot of dirt, let the seedlings grow up, and then pot them up individually. Sound like a plan? I think if I was to try seperating them, their roots would easily break. Thanks!

Ryan
