Finding them early #2.

Cedrus atlantica 'Sapphire Nymph'.

A dwarf, blue variety of Atlantic Cedar. Grows in a layered flat look in a small shrub form. New foliage is smaller than old, like species. Nice blue color. Can be staked to upright. Plant found by Pat McCraken, Tennessee. Zone 5-8.

I will stake it for more height by pulling that top limb into vertical.

Stunning specimen! Will you be planting it in a protected microclimate? I don't know if it's truly zone5 tolerant.

Southern exposure close to house. Everywhere I looked a Z. 5.

Such a cool cultivar if I get +5 years out of it I am good.

Well Ken I thought this one through . I based my decision to purchase it because I have a Cedrus atlantica 'Horstmann' Z.5 that survived without any issues..

See for yourself. I believe this is a true zone 5 survival cultivar. Aside from that you all know I am in Z. 6 now. So I have nothing to worry about ,right?
