MY snaps were all thin and short last year and this year they are growing tall and straight! I think it might be that we are a =having an excessively cool and cloudy MAy and early June, where as last year we had a very warm one. I have read that snaps like cool weather.

Same here...May warm days/cool nights,little rain now June is already a scorcher so maybe that's the problem. Luckily this year's flowers are just a trial run while everything gets back to normal since the DH is back home after working 300 miles away for the passed year.Maybe I can actually be back to some kind of normal for cut flower sales next year. Doesn't hurt to plan ahead.

That is the problem. Too warm in May. Our snaps in the field are 12" tall. They are 36" in the hoophouse. The snaps in the hoophouse were planted when it was still cold. It is a scorcher of a month here in Michigan as well....
