I cannot figure out how to lay out furniture in my living room so that it's really comfortable! It's the only place my daughter and I hang out and it never feels quite right. I think my couch (and I have two of them!) is probably too big. Any ideas??

What's going on behind the butterfly chair (the opposite end of the room from the built in bookshelves? Is there a wall there or a door? I'm kinda thinking I'd flank the fireplace with the two sofas facing each other with the coffee table in the middle (super cool coffee table by the way - is that Blu Dot?) An area rug might help you define the space a bit, either the set up I suggest or as it is right now. Your floors are GORGEOUS but I think it would make it feel cozier. You have great furniture and it is a beautiful room - it's ALMOST there! ;)
