Thanks for noticing my "pole mirror!" I had it custom-made.

Since there was no good way to mount a mirror to a window (and make it look good), I came up with creative fix. Originally, I had three stainless steel fabricators give me an estimate to have this post made and each came around $2,000 each! Ridiculous!!

I found the parts I needed at my local hardware store (the posts and connectors) and had them "threaded" so I could screw the parts together. (The hardware store had a threading machine that could do this for me.). I pre-measured and had the posts cut so that when the pieces were threaded together and tightened, the length was SHORTER than the distance between countertop and ceiling. I then attached toilet flanges on both ends of the posts to create a "finished" and industrialized look and to keep the threaded ends of the posts from scratching the marble countertop and the paint on the ceiling.

Once in place, I "loosened" the posts from the connectors to lengthen the posts so they would create a tight fit between countertop and ceiling. No welding was needed.

Prior to installation, I also had the entire piece "plated" with a chrome finish to match the new plumbing fixtures. I had the legs on the tub plated as well. Again, I found a local shop to do this.

The mirror is attached to the connector fitting and can be rotated on the post.

All totaled, the cost of the post was around $250.00 for parts and plating. I installed the piece myself so labor was free. :)

There is another identical vanity and mirror (with post) on the opposite side of the room which created a nice, symmetrical look.

This is EXACTLY what I'm looking for and this post was so helpful. Could I ask 3 follow up questions: 1) I don't want the post to go all the way to my vanity, I'd like It to just be suspended from the ceiling. Do you think that will work? 2) Could you tell me what to ask for at the hardware store? Is the "connector" the technical name for the piece that screws into the ceiling? 3) how did you attach the mirror to the pole. Thanks again.
