Hardwood in Kitchen or Keep Tile?

This is a long condo (the living area and a 3 season room behind photographer. We are considering replacing carpeting with hardwood. Do we also hardwood the kitchen or keep the tile? It's all open from front door to Living area with french doors to 3 season (tile out there). And, which direction should the planks go - front door to living area or side wall to side wall?

realeyes, you have two very good questions. Hardwood flooring does just fine in the kitchen as long as its properly installed and sealed. Just make sure to mop up any significant spills as you would with any other floor. As for the direction of the planks your installer will be able to help you decide which way they should go based on structural details of you home. It sounds like a great project.
